Discover how you can use your mind to improve your performance and reach your potential through our one on one, group and corporate coaching programmes:

What is NLP?:

NLP is sometimes referred to as the science of human excellence. The Neuro element is how we interpret information via our senses creating a mental map (our unique reality). The Linguistic element is how we attach labels and words to that understanding thus establishing personal meaning to our experience. Thus the language we use can reinforce our old patterns and thinking or alternatively break them. The Programming element allows us to choose change.

The seed of success starts with a dream. To make a dream a reality requires passion, persistence & determination, but also belief.

The key question we ask is “how do your current beliefs and thoughts support your dreams and goals?”

NLP is non-judgmental and leads the client towards expanding choices and using his or her own best judgement to define a course of action based on reflective learning.

How does NLP work:

Indigo Giraffe provides a qualified coach to support you in your search for excellence. We have a Tool Kit, which includes exercises, and visualisations that bring awareness to critical issues and identify actions that can release the passion, ideas, and commitment to drive change. Some of the tools and approaches we use include:

Mission Statements:

A mission Statement is a narrative / description that highlights and underlines how you see yourself and where you want to be in life. It is positive and largely in the present tense.

SWOT Analysis:

SWOT Analysis is a powerful technique for understanding Strengths and Weaknesses, and for looking at the Opportunities and Threats you face. It helps you to develop your life / career in a way that takes best advantage of your talents and abilities.

Reframing:

Reframing is used to help a client see a problem from a new perspective thus presenting potential solutions. This is often achieved through visualisations.

Anchoring:

Anchoring is a method of bringing about a positive resourceful state of mind. The anchor is a physical prompt that enables the client to recall a positive state of mind. A good example of Anchoring is traffic lights. When we see a red light we know to stop.

Modelling:

Modelling is when we identify a person we believe is successful and we seek to copy (mimic) them in all aspects relating to how they achieve their goals. A good example of modelling is how children learn. For example, the green cross code is learnt by endlessly practising it until it becomes an unconscious competence.

I-CAN-DO Model:

Allows you to define your issue and desired change and link it clear goals and outcomes.

Investigate – What is important and how can life-coaching help?

Current – Present life situation?

Aims – What are the goals / objectives?

Number – What are the options / strategies for achieving the goals?

Date – When will the goals be achieved?

Outcome – What are the indicators by which progress and achievement can be measured?

Affirmations:

Affirmations can change beliefs that people have. Powerful words and statements repeated start to be believed as a truth replacing the old limiting belief.
